Ervin Marshall of Russell, Manitoba passed away at the Russell Personal Care Home peacefully on November 12, 2019 at the age of 82 years.
Ervin was born at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Russell, Manitoba on November 22, 1936, and was raised in the Municipality of Boulton. He was baptized and confirmed in Bethany Lutheran Church. At first Ervin attended Boulton and later on went to Freefield School. He was the first of five brothers and was born and raised by William and Hilda Marshall. His brothers were Robert (1939-1939), Gerald (1941-2002), David (1945), and Alvin (1951-2007).
Ervin spent his early years at the farm but had a difficult time and just could not get along with his siblings. He then moved to Brandon, Manitoba for training in landscaping. Ervin enjoyed that and landed a job in Dauphin Manitoba, with ARC Industries. He liked what he was doing and continued for a number of years. His job was interesting, and he enjoyed working with the equipment and other machinery.
After he left ARC Industries, he went to the Grandview Group Home. He spent many happy years there and grew very attached to the personal care givers.
Once a vacancy came up at the Russell Care Home, Ervin was again moved. He lived there for quite a few years until his passing this month.
He is survived by one brother David (Patricia) of Barrie, Ontario, five nieces and their husbands and children. He was predeceased by his father, William (1960), mother Hilda (2013), three brothers Robert (1939), Gerald (2002), Alvin (2007).
