It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Donald Daniel Fleury at the Russell Health Centre on November 12, 2018.
Donald was born in Welby, SK on June 8, 1937. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Ruby Fleury and siblings and their spouses, Aleta (Albert) Timbrell, Merrick (Ida) Fleury, Dolarine (Bert) Ducharme, Raymond Fleury, Stanley (Lucy) Fleury, Thelma (Raymond) Dupont, his twin sister Dorothy Spencer, Faye (Jake) Driedger, and brother in law Murray Pennelton.
He is survived by his son Darryle (Michele) Cadieux, grandchildren Daniele and Christian Cadieux, great-grandchildren Manix and Kazalee, sister Jean Pennelton, brother Albert (Jan) Fleury, sister-in-law Gloria Fleury and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald lived most of his adult life in Birtle and St. Lazare. He was employed by CN and after retirement he worked for Manitoba Housing caretaking at Winnipeg House in Brandon and then Villa Decorby in St. Lazare. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed playing ball and hockey. In later years he would spend time having coffee with his many friends often playing pranks on them. He would also enjoy cheering for the Habs and Yankees on TV.
The service was held Nov. 17, 2018 from the St. Lazare Roman Catholic Church with Father Rene Digba officiating. Interment followed in St. Lazare Cemetery. Pallbearer s were Danny Lemoine, Johnny Dupont, Robert Dupont, Christian Cadieux, Barry Fleury and Deone Oertel. Honorary Pallbearers were all who attended.
