Doug Clarke Obituary

Douglas Charles Clarke of Binscarth, Manitoba was born Aug. 3, 1934 in Spy Hill, Saskatchewan, and he passed away on March 31, 2019 in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan at the age of 84 years.

Douglas was born the first of four boys to Charles and Laura Clarke. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in the Bavelaw District. He completed high school in Spy Hill and he went on to complete his Agricultural Diploma by attending Brandon College for one year and the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg for one year.

Doug then returned home and purchased the Johnson farm in 1958, where he resided for the rest of his life — farming was his life. Doug also worked out for a bit in the oil rigs, building roads and driving on the freight supply trains up north.

Doug met Lois Stainer and they were married on October 3, 1959. Together they raised four children; Shelley, Dean, Tammy, and Neil. Together with Lois they did everything they could for their children and all of their grandchildren that followed.

Doug was predeceased by his father Charles; his brother Klenberg; and his mother Laura.

Besides the many friends and family that he leaves to mourn his loss, he leaves his wife Lois; daughter Shelley; son Dean (Mary); daughter Tammy; son Neil (Jenny); as well as seven grandchildren; Jeremy (Brianne), Morgan and Kaitlyn, Lane, Jerimiah, Sierra and Koda.

Doug loved to travel and meet people. He could talk freely and comfortably with anyone about anything and thoroughly enjoy it.

Doug also had a deep love and respect for the Bible which led him to dedicate his life to the Creator, Jehovah God. Together with his wife Lois, they symbolized their dedication to Jehovah by water baptism in 1976. He found contained within the pages of the Bible, very powerful principles and guidelines to live by. Also the Bible’s very clear hope of a brighter future under perfect conditions on this earth was very important and real to him, causing him to share what he learned with others.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
