Laurie Lavoy of Churchbridge, Saskatchewan passed away November 1, 2018, at Regina General Hospital, from the results of a fall on October 13, at the age of 63 years.
Laurie was the youngest of ten children of Bert and Annie Brears. Laurie was born in Saltcoats and grew up on the family farm in the Clumber District south of Bredenbury. Laurie married Ken Walker and had one daughter, Pamela Dawn. She worked for a time in the Langenburg Hotel. Later she married Lanney Lavoy and eventually made their home in Churchbridge. Laurie always tended a large garden and loved her flowers.
Laurie was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, Kenneth Walker, children, Wayne and Teri Michele, brothers John and Lewis, and sisters Anne and Margaret. Laurie leaves to mourn, her husband Lanney Lavoy, daughter, Pamela Dawn Potvin, 3 grandchildren, Amarha, Traeten and Kaylee, brothers Dave, Paul and Stewart Brears, and sisters, Sylvia Meston and Phyllis Jordan.
The funeral service was held November 6, 2018 at the Church of God in Churchbridge with Dewey Thiele officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Bredenbury.
Pallbearers were Ron Derkatch, Lyle Mund, Bob Reetz, Paul Timms, Amy Yanke and Matthew Yanke.
