On behalf of the family-Auntie Adele; children - Lisa and Cory; grandchildren- Jessica, Brayden, Cheyenne and Shaelyn; great-grandchildren - Colton, Ryland and Rowan - We would like to thank each and every one of you for coming to pay your respects to celebrate and honour the life of Albert Belhumeur - Uncle Skinner, Dad and Huppa.
Albert Belhumeur was born on May 14, 1930. He attended St. Lazare School until he was old enough to work. His first job was working on the South Saskatchewan River dam. His next jobs were working for Arthur and Peds Fouillard at the farm an also at the shop for Henry Fouillard at Fouillard Trailer Sales building trailers. Later on, he worked for Marcel Fouillard. He also worked for Charlie Fouillard, doing numerous jobs. He was a “jack of all trades”.
When he retired, he took up the hobby of tapping maple trees in the springtime for maple syrup. He did this with his brothers Morris and Arthur. Robert Henderson and Alec Belhumeur were also helpers. A few other people would stop by to visit or help carry the water. That alone was a big job. They rewarded themselves with a little drink and that was OK. They enjoyed themselves and the syrup was very delicious. Through the summer and fall, they would cut and buck up wood for sale.
He was a great one for puzzles and would sit for hours working on them. He was very knowledgeable. He liked feeding the birds and would sit and watch them eat. Albert had many friends – young and old.
He did a lot of travelling for his boys’ sports and he also enjoyed going to watch his grand daughter playing sports. He was the best navigator with Lisa at the wheel.
Albert was married to his lifetime partner, Adele, for 57 years, which is truly a blessing.
He was predeceased by his sons; Darren, Sterling and Trevor, his grandson A.J., his parents and siblings.
