Alfred (Alf) Peter Roset, passed away peacefully in Saltcoats, Saskatchewan, on January 2, 2022, at the age of 95 years old.
Alf was born on November 12, 1926, in Gouldtown, Saskatchewan, to his parents Ole and Anna Roset. He was the second oldest of four children.
He married Mona Letkeman on September 25, 1949, and they were blessed with two sons – Lynn and Roald (Ron). Alf was devastated when they lost their eldest son Lynn to cancer in 1986.
Alf and Mona raised their boys on a farm outside of Churchbridge. Alf was very hard working. He loved farming, buying and selling cattle, and caring for their horses. After they sold the farm in the early seventies, Alf enjoyed working at the Churchbridge Husky until he retired. He was proud of his work ethic, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren.
Alf loved his family dearly. If he could, he would do anything to help them. He especially loved being a grandpa. When they were young, his grandkids loved biking to his house, helping in the garden, and playing games like crokinole and dominoes with him.
Alf was predeceased by his wife Mona, son Lynn, parents, Ole and Anna, brothers Iver and Kristian, and sister Noreen. He leaves to mourn his daughter-in-law, Linda Roset, son Ron Roset, grandchildren Sheldon Roset (Jennifer), Shane Roset (Jill), Chrissy Weber (Ian), Christina Button, Sabrina Snell, Scott Roset, and Joseph Roset as well as his great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend its appreciation to the staff at the Lakeside Manor Care Home in Saltcoats, Saskatchewan, for the care and kindness they gave to Alf.
