Alice Fingas Obituary

Alice Loretta Fingas

On July 3rd, 1928, Alice Loretta was born to Otto and Annie Seifert of Inglis, Manitoba. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church at Inglis.

Growing up on the family farm with three brothers, must have been a challenge.

In October 1949, she married Paul Fingas, starting their home at Thunder Creek.

In October 1950, their daughter Carol was born, and their son Randy was born April 1955.

Many good times were enjoyed with family and friends and being involved with the Church, community, curling, bowling, gardening, camping and an annual trip to BC to visit Carol and her family.

Gramma loved to spoil the family with her baking, meals, and canning. She made each grandchild a quilt and afghan. Mom also enjoyed doing a bit of shopping from time to time!

During her last few years Mom & Dad spent a short time at Park Manor in Russell. They enjoyed much time with other residents playing cards, visiting, and having a group coffee time in the gathering room.

After Dad passed away Mom required a little more care, so she was welcomed to the personal care home in Roblin and was then transferred to the Russell Personal Care home. We wish to thank all staff in both care homes for the wonderful care given to mom.

Many Thanks as well to Dave Klassen and his very professional staff for the care, compassion, guidance, and advice given to us following mom’s passing.

A service of remembrance was held at the Braendle-Bruce Funeral Chapel with Pastor Judy Bauereiss officiating, Connie Zimmer leading with music and special songs by Ron Koss. Her great grandchildren Mikala & Elizabeth read the eulogy as well as comments of remembrance from other great grandchildren. A delicious lunch was provided and served by Marta’s catering. Thank you everyone!

Again, from the bottom of our hearts “Thank-you” all and may God Bless you.

Alice shared 70 years of marriage with Paul, who sadly passed away in 2019. Remembering Alice is daughter Carol (Richard), son Randy (Gayle), grandchildren David (Elizabeth), Susan (Rob), Kent (Tammy), Craig (Karin), Heidi (Scott), and 12 great grandchildren.

Alice was predeceased by her parents Otto and Annie, brothers Wilbert, Clarence and Marvin, her grand-daughters Abby and Karen.

We miss you Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
How do you know Alice Loretta Fingas?
We are sorry for your loss.
Help others honor Alice's memory.
