Alyssa Brittany LaRocque

Alyssa Brittany LaRocque of Churchbridge passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2025, in Churchbridge at the age of 29 years.

Alyssa was born in Winnipeg on July 12, 1996, to Jim and Valerie. From the moment she entered this world, she was a force to be reckoned with. Our sweet girl was dynamic, outgoing, and over the top—in all the very best ways. To know her was to love her; one could simply not help it… and that infectious laugh was truly one of a kind.

Her sassy nature was apparent right from the start.  That twinkle in her eye lit up and you just knew that shit was about to hit the fan.

Like the time she was found in the road in front of our house pulling the fresh tar off the road and chewing it like bubble gum. Or the time she was mad at Grandma because she was given tap water instead of filtered water. This travesty was enough to make her hide under the bed with her barbies for hours, all the while Grandma was frantically thinking she had lost her.

She loved to wear frilly dresses but also loved to play in the mud, because of this her dad nicknamed her “ditch pig”.

In 2017 Alyssa gave birth to her beautiful baby boy Nixson James LaRocque. She was truly meant to be a Momma, and all could see it when she was with him. It wasn’t easy, but while raising Nixson, she completed her CCA Program all while working. She used to say it took her 5 years, but it was worth it .

Alyssa convocated from SaskPoly Tech on June 23, 2023 where we all cheered her on from the audience, loud and proud at her incredible  accomplishment . 

In May of 2022 Alyssa and Matthew found romance. They had known each other as friends when she lived in Yorkton, but this time around they fell in love. When you saw them together there was no doubt that Matt was the love of her life, their connection was palpable.

In July of 2024 Alyssa and Matt bought their home in Churchbridge, the perfect place for the 3 of them to be a family, along with the other loves of her life…..  Her CATS, there wasn’t a cat that was safe from her loving if they dared cross her periphery.

Family was everything to Alyssa, all she ever wanted was for her people to be happy and healthy.

In November of 2025 Alyssa and Matt were married on a beautiful beach in Mexico.  There wasn’t a dry eye there, witnessing the nuptials.  It truly was the best day, with all her family and friends watching the radiant bride pledge her love to her handsome groom.

Some people merely exist on this earth, but without a doubt, Alyssa truly lived every day of her life, loud, proud and unapologetic and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

As well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rest easy, sweet girl. Your earthly job is done. Know that your people whom you held so dear will look after each other until we can all be together again.
