Anna Paradis Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, Anna Paradis.  Born on July 18, 1927 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan to John and Susanna Brunen, Anna Marie Katherine Paradis (nee Brunen) passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022 in Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba.  Anna grew up in the Humboldt area and moved to Manitoba in 1947 where she met our dad, Leon Paradis. They married on August 1, 1949 in Toutes Aides and soon after started welcoming their nine children, Marlinda, Bernice, Sharon, Barry, Emile and Emilie, Richard, Joan and finally our youngest brother Gildas.

Mom and Dad farmed for a few years in the Rorketon and Magnet area before settling in Ste. Rose where Mom was kept busy raising all of us. Whether it was sewing our clothes, knitting our socks and mittens or cooking up big batches of food, her hands were constantly busy!  Mom is probably best remembered for   running one of the first seniors home in  Manitoba.  After they retired, Mom and Dad moved to Dauphin.  Our Dad passed away in April 1995 so he has been   waiting a while for Mom to join him.  Not one to be the centre of  attention, Mom had a quiet strength and strong devotion to her faith that carried her through the many challenges life gave her.

Mom leaves to mourn her loss her nine children, their spouses, 24 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren:  Marlinda and Ron Delaurier of Laurier, their children Marc, Sherilyn and Greg (Nicole) children Kaitlyn, Danielle and Kent; Bernice and Jack Sinnock of Winnipeg her children Lori Anne (Glen) Simard sons Andrew and Nathan, Ashley Pinette (Michelle Rebenchuk) children Avery, Zenon and  Zofia; Sharon and Ron Vandenbosch of Ste. Rose their sons Joel (Lisa) Vandenbosch children Alec, Anna and Micheal, Brent (Jennifer) Vandenbosch children Brayden and Hailey; Barry and Karen Paradis of  Rorketon their sons  Stephen (Krystal) Paradis daughters Chayse and Quinn, Chad (Megan) Paradis   daughters Morgan and Chloe; Emile and Cecile Paradis of Ste. Rose their children Christopher (Emilie) her daughter Jade, Rachel (Marie-Lynn); Emilie and Gerry DeCorby of Edmonton their daughters Gillian (John) Anderson children Katie, Benn and Claire, Adrienne (Shariaz) Baksh children Leila, Lucie and Arthur,  Danielle (Daniel) Boston sons Jack and William; Richard Paradis and partner Beth White of Benyk’s Point his children KallyAnna (Mitch) Clinton,  Colton Paradis; Joan and Boris Zamrykut of Rorketon their children Shawn Zamrykut and fiance Tabatha Schick children Blake, Anna and Lukas, April Davis and Dan Hryhoryshen her son Gretzky, Kayla Zamrykut; Gildas and Joanne Paradis of Dauphin daughters Chanelle, Lily, Josie, Clara and Charlette.

Anna was predeceased by her brothers John, Joe, Gerhard, Louis, Roman and sisters Gertrude, Jenny and Katherine and infant brothers Edward and Richard.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gudmundson and staff at the Personal Care Home in Ste. Rose for the wonderful care and support shown to our Mom over the years.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home.
