Anthony (Tony) Wirl was born on October 18, 1934 on the family farm near Langenburg, Saskatchewan to Alex and Agnes Wirl. He passed away on August 15, 2025 at the age of 90 years at the Langenburg Centennial Care Home.
Tony was raised on the farm and attended Landshut School. Tony married Betty Lou Koenig July 21, 1967 and took over the family farm. They were blessed with four children: Jo-Ann, Lee-Ann, David and Darla.
Tony worked at IMC Potash mine for many years. Tony loved working the land and caring for his cattle.
From sun up to sun down, he could be found outside working his fields, caring for his animals or fixing machinery. He was very proud of his land and way of life.
Tony loved taking his grandchildren for rides in the tractors, swather or combine. He had a smile that could brighten any room and make all those around him smile.
Tony is survived by his children: Jo-Ann Wirl of Esterhazy, Saskatchewan; Lee-Ann Wirl (Lars) of Kamloops, B.C.; David Wirl (Shauna) of Langenburg, Saskatchewan; Darla Kirilenko (Jason) of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan; his grandchildren: Mary, Alexis, Kaitlyn, Cameron, Joshua and Elizabeth; his great-grandchildren: Alayna and Joshua Jr.
