Avery Osborne Obituary

Avery Josephina Osborne (Manoop)

Avery was born at 28th week gestation (but stopped growing at 24 weeks) on December 9th, 2020 at 2:05pm, being 1 lb 7oz and 11.8 inches long.

She fought to live from 24th, week gestation to her 70th day of life. In that she grew to 4 lbs 10.5 oz and 15.75 inches long. She overcame many obstacles beginning her first 3 days as a critical period, had heart PDA, and been on the ventilator. She breathed on her own (a week after birth) for 3 weeks. She then was too tired to continue, was re-intubated and back on a ventilator. After a few days she contracted MRSA infection and pneumonia. She fought it hard and received a steroid medication which improved her breathing for 3 weeks. During that time and the time that she was breathing on her own, Mom and Dad had many cuddles. The other times were spent singing, reading stories, and telling her of all the family and friends that loved her.

She joined in many family group video chats and attended church services with Dad and Mom. We used to sing her "3 little birds" by Bob Marley. And in the morning of her passing, she sent us a message of the 3 little birds outside our window singing, "Everything is going to be alright". She passed away peacefully at 4:59pm on February 17, 2021 in Mom and Dad's arms.

70 days... 70 days may not be long enough, but Avery taught us a lot of things. She taught us to live one day at a time, be thankful and celebrate life every day. It was indeed a real-life roller-coaster ride, but she gave us an opportunity to become a mother and a father, a child could ever want. She brought us so much joy and happiness and made us feel love beyond anything we could have imagined. "Her story is of miracle and hope in a time of great difficulties. It was a story that united all of us in prayer and hope but now in grief. In her short life Avery made a difference and helped us all to think of something other than ourselves” (Rose Kieper).

She will forever be Daddy's "Sunshine" and Momma's "Sweet Pea". She will be missed but forever in our hearts.

Love Mom and Dad
