Beverly was born November 6th, 1959 in the Pas, Manitoba to Peter & Verna (Elsner) Walko.
When Bev was a toddler her parents and 2 sisters Brenda & Wendy moved to Russell where here 3 brothers were born. Bev attended school in Russell where she made many lifelong friends.
Bev had many jobs over the years - baby sitting, waitressing, health care aide, store clerk at co-op to name a few. It was during her store clerk days in Rossburn where she met and married David Malchuk. They had 4 daughters Nicole, Pamela, Stacey & Amanda. Bev had a big heart and looked after many foster children; some for a short while and some longer. Bev and David parted ways after the children left home. Bev and her foster daughter Justice moved to Brandon to access needed services. Bev moved back to Rossburn then to Dauphin where she resided until her passing.
As her daughters got older Bev was blessed with 15 grandchildren who called her Baba. Bev was proud of all their accomplishments no matter how small. Bev was a hard worker and a delicious cook and many enjoyed her sauerkraut perogies, potato dumplings, and shortbread cookies. Bev loved thrifting. During a visit to Parkland Crossing clothing room she found her niche in Dauphin as a volunteer. Bev’s helpful, friendly attitude soon made her many good friends there. Bev’s friendly nature found her a close friend Blaine who enjoyed country concerts and spending time together. Bev loved her family, sometimes putting their needs before her own, country music, making new friends, cooking, finding treasures, contests (she won quite a few), growing plants, marathon phone calls with her sister Wendy & bragging about her grandkids, nieces & nephew’s accomplishments. Bev had a strong religious side as well. Bev was a wonderful person who will be missed by many.
Beverly developed pneumonia and after after a short illness at home due to complications Bev passed away from heart failure on August 27th at 12:27am in Dauphin hospital at the age of 64.
Bev is predeceased by her parents Peter & Verna, her sister Brenda, her brothers Melvin, Matthew & Mark, her in laws Peter & Elsie Malchuk, her children’s father David Malchuk, a brother in law Jake Malchuk, and grandson Mark Cloud.
