Bryan Cronkite Obituary

January 14, 1949 - February 5, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bryan Cronkite announces his sudden passing on February 5, 2024, at his home. Bryan is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Debbie; his daughters Robyn (Ian) Nerbas and Stacey (Derek) Stroh as well as his grandchildren Sundre Nerbas, Sabren Nerbas, Kaiden Stroh, and Klover Stroh. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Wilson; his sister, Wendy (Richard) Mahoney; his brother, Randal Cronkite; his sister-in-law, Sharon McLachlan; and his nieces and nephews, Lisa, Christy, Mark, Trevor, Ryan, and Cory.

Bryan served in the RCMP for 32 years and retired in April 2004. Throughout his career, he made many good friends and always made an effort to keep in touch with them. Being a social person, he enjoyed interacting with others. One of the most memorable moments of his career was when he was selected to appear on a stamp for the RCMP's 125th anniversary.

During his retirement, he had a lot of leisure time to spend with his loved ones and friends. He enjoyed several fishing and hunting trips, and in the last four years, he and Debbie and their little dog, Molly, discovered their passion for camping. They were barely home, as they spent most of their time camping and only returned home occasionally to mow the lawn and check on the house.

He will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a future date to be announced.
