Carla Burley

Carla passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in Langenburg, SK at the early age of 64.  She was born on November 18, 1953 in Herbert, SK.

Some of Carla’s most cherished moments were during her life on the farm; both in her childhood where her family lived outside of Wapella, SK., and later with her husband Mervyn living north of Dysart, SK.  She also loved animals, planting flowers and general gardening.  She really enjoyed travelling to visit family, and going camping whenever she could, which included an annual family reunion at the campground in Watrous, SK. Carla loved to cook as well and enjoyed any opportunity for a holiday to prepare a large meal for family coming home to visit. Carla had a strong faith in God and was looking forward to spending eternity with Jesus when her life on earth was complete.

Carla was predeceased by her parents John and Sarah Harder, her stepfather Gordon McLean, and her husband Mervyn Burley.

Carla is survived by her loving children, Roxanne Waynert, Ron Waynert (Kara), Carrie Waynert-Carlson (Eric); grandchildren Matthew, Luke, Kayley, Xavier, Elijah, and Eden; brothers William “Bill” Harder (Marion), Harry Harder (Dianne), Herbert “Herb” Harder (Dolores); as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family wishes to give our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful care team, nurses and doctors for their kindness and care as they worked with Carla at the Centennial Special Care Home, and to the many wonderful friends who demonstrated their love and support throughout Carla’s battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
