Caroline Nabe Obituary

Caroline was born November 25, 1941, on a farm outside Langenburg, Saskatchewan.  She was the second oldest daughter of Harold and Lily Grube.  Caroline started school in Gerald and attended high school in Langenburg.  In October 1961, Caroline was united in marriage to Richard Nabe.  They were blessed with their daughter Kim and their son Stuart.

Caroline worked as a Nurse’s Aide for several years at the Langenburg Union Hospital.  She loved working in the hospital and touched countless lives during this time.  Regretfully she had to discontinue her nursing career after suffering a back injury.  Later in life she devoted time to providing palliative care at the Langenburg Care Home.

Over the years, many good times were spent at their cabin at Madge Lake, as well as various winter getaways.  Caroline was a very good cook and took pride in preparing meals.  She always wanted to see the serving bowls emptied!  She loved to grow flowers and had a special touch with her begonias.  Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, crafts, bingo, and painting.

Richard passed away in 2008.  In 2011, Caroline met James Millham.  In 2013, she moved to Yorkton where they resided until her passing.  Caroline and Jim enjoyed travelling, which included a trip to Alaska, bus trips to Blue Jays games in Minneapolis, Seattle, and Kansas City, and flying to Ottawa to visit Jim’s family.  With Caroline’s passion to help others, she regularly volunteered at the Yorkton Hospital until her health would no longer allow.  She made some very close friends in Yorkton who were a great blessing to her.

On December 23, 2025, Caroline passed away suddenly at the Yorkton Hospital.  For years, she optimistically faced her pain and health issues.  One of her favorite sayings that kept her going and encouraged others was, “Tomorrow will be better!”.  December 24, 2025, was much better for her as her suffering ended and she was safe in the arms of Jesus.

Caroline was predeceased by her parents, husband Richard, sister Gwen Buchberger, sister-in-law Elaine Hartung, and brothers-in-law.  The recent passing of her niece, Sherry Self, was especially difficult as she had a very close bond with Sherry.  She always said Sherry was her second daughter.

Caroline is survived by her daughter Kim (Mike) Moors, son Stuart (grandchildren Baily, Madylyn, Ryan, and Gavin), partner James Millham, sister Fay (Brian) Stade of BC, and sister-in-law Elsie (Roy) Elsasser of Yorkton.
