Christopher Wesley Gunnar Mercer of Binscarth, MB has passed on May 21, 2024 at Birtle, MB at the age of 31 years.
Chris was born on April 21, 1993 to Bev and Wes Mercer in The Pas, MB.
Chris most recently held a position at Twin Valley Co-op Lumber Yard as a laborer. He took a natural skill to working with lumber and made many friendships throughout his 9 years. Chris took pride in woodworking on and off the clock. In his free time, Chris loved to build many pieces of furniture including shelves, blanket ladders, and coffee tables.
Chris held various job positions throughout his years such as a beekeeper, flagger, roofer, facility assistant at Viterra, and a casual farm hand.
Chris was the first one to lend a helping hand, never expecting anything in return. His many acts of kindness always included changing oil, mowing the lawn, shoveling snow, gardening, babysitting, cooking, and cleaning. We will always remember the kind, considerate nature that came so naturally to Chris.
Chris was taught the love of hunting and fishing from an early age, passed down from generations. His favorite days were spent on the land with a rifle or a fishing rod in hand. The best time of year was hunting season for bringing home big game such as moose, deer or elk. The skies would be falling when Chris was sitting in the blind hunting Geese with loved ones. Fishing with friends and a cooler of drinks was always a hobby, whether in summer or winter.
Chris was well known for the connections he created as he made it a large priority to maintain his social circle. Many friends enjoyed a Friday night Whisky and a music session until the early hours of the morning.
Chris leaves behind to mourn, his father Wes (61), mother Bev (61), sister Nicole (37) brother Logan (30), sister Chloe (28), niece Cadence (18), nephew Matayo (16), niece Brooklyn (12) and nephew Adrian (6).
The funeral service will be held on June 4, 2024 at Binscarth Hall. Interment to follow at Binscarth Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Logan Mercer, Riley Dreilich, Joseph Dreilich, and Jessie Woodhouse.
