With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Colleen Elizabeth Jacob, who left this world on November 13, 2025, at the age of 89.
Colleen was born on November 24, 1935, in Mazenod, Saskatchewan, and grew up on the family farm as the second eldest of six siblings. She was baptized on December 1, 1935, at Mazenod Catholic Church. After graduating from Mazenod High School, she began her career as a bank teller in Regina.
Colleen met the love of her life, Ron, at a dance in Gravelbourg—fittingly so, as dancing was something they both cherished. They married on August 20, 1960, and began their life together in Wilcox. They later moved to Langenburg with their 10’ x 40’ trailer and two young sons, Allan and Grant. After building their first home, their family grew as Clancy, Michael, and Bruce arrived.
In 1978, they purchased an acreage, built a shop, and later their home. Colleen spent countless hours tending to her garden, growing flowers of every kind, and preparing wonderful meals for many family gatherings. She worked alongside Ron, managing the bookwork for the family business, and poured her creativity into sewing—at one point making matching outfits for all five boys. She worked part time at the UGG elevator and later with Home Care in Langenburg. Above all, Colleen devoted herself to caring for her family.
She was an active member of the CWL and enjoyed curling during the winter months—taking special pride in being “good enough” to curl with the men.
After Ron retired, they spent five winters traveling to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with their truck and fifth-wheel camper. They made cherished friendships and often reminisced about the many wonderful memories from those years.
Ron and Colleen moved off their acreage in 2005. In May 2024, as her health declined, Colleen moved into the Langenburg Care Home, where she lived until her passing.
Colleen will be lovingly remembered by her son’s: Allan (Carla), Grant (Kathy), Clancy (Sharon), Michael (Pauline), and Bruce (Jennifer); grandchildren: Dustin (Jordan), Chris (Randi), Cody (Michael), Lauren (Mark), Hanna (Cole), Colby (Kylee), Jodi (Colton), Ty, Andrew, Riley (Olivia), Curtis, and Andrea; great grandchildren: Salem, Briar, Clarke, Suri and Wrenlee; sister Laureen Huel; brothers and sisters-in-law: Stephen Lapointe, Verna Dolan, Betty Walters, Robert (Vi) Jacob, Winnie (Gerhart) Preibisch, Ruth (Steve) Breitner, Gail Jacob; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
