Cory Micheal Anthony Buchberger

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change”...

It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved son, brother and father who passed away on April 12, 2021.

Cory Micheal Anthony Buchberger was born in the Russell hospital October 8, 1969.  He was such a beautiful baby but he knew what he wanted right from the start.  When he was hungry it was immediate with a temper to go with it.  He grew into a very active little boy who kept his Mom, Dad and sisters on their toes.   After he started school he became quite active in sports especially ball and hockey.  He always loved classic country music and polka music.  He and grandma Zaick always had a special bonding with their music.  He left school and pursued a life in the oil industry.  His jobs took him to many corners of the world such as Venezuela, the North Sea, Norway and Kuwait.  Beside country music and rodeo he loved game hunting.  He served as a guide for a period of time. One of the highlights in his life was a trip to Africa with a friend for game hunting excursion.   He met and then married the love of his life Tina Dixon on May 6, 2000.  Together they moved to Calmar, Alberta and later to Thorsby.  They have three beautiful children James, Cache and Georgia who were the sunshine in his life.   They both loved the rural lifestyle so enjoyed living on an acreage with their beloved animals.

Cory leaves to mourn his passing Tina and their children James, Cache and Georgia.  His parents Ron and Betty Buchberger, his siblings Shawna (Kevin), Rhonda (Warren), Colin (Christa) and Jason (Lorinda).  He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Cory struggled with the demons of alcohol addiction during his last few years.  We know that he has been released from them now and we hope is now in a happy place.
