Cynthia Halwas

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cynthia Halwas of Russell, Manitoba.

Cynthia passed away peacefully at the Russell Personal Care Home on Dec.13th, 2020 at the age of 90 yrs.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband Lawrence, her parents Rosie and Peter Buleziuk, her siblings George, Johnny, Ida, Elsie, William, Anne, Nick and Mary; as well as her son in law Jake.

Cynthia was born on Nov.13th, 1930 in Lennard Manitoba. She married Lawrence May 2nd, 1951. They lived on their farm, east of Inglis, where they raised their three children. In 1989 they moved off the farm into their new home in Russell. They downsized in 2012 and moved into a condominium in Russell. Mom moved into the  Personal Care Home in Russell in 2017  because of her declining health.

Cynthia was a beautiful person who put everyone else before herself. She was an amazing homemaker and avid gardener. She loved berry picking and preserving. We (her family) were incredibly blessed.

She will be deeply missed by her children Jane (Bob), Barry and Donna; grandchildren Ian (Evelyn), Scott (Erin), Haley, Laurie (Ryan) and Allan (Nora); great-grandchildren Odette, Amelia, Hazel, Aubrey, Owen, Luke, Nathan, Kyra, many in-laws, nieces and   nephews.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Pieterse and the staff at the Russell Personal Care Home for the excellent care Mom received in her final years.
