David Russell Coulter

1939 – 2022

David Russell Coulter passed away on April 12, 2022 at the age of 82 years, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on May 31, 1939, in Russell, Manitoba to Russ and Emily Coulter.

David and Sylvia, his first wife, raised two sons, Allan Russell, and Gavin Glen.

David married Barbara Gordon on June 26, 1993. Barbara arrived with three adult children, Duane, Colette and Melanie, and David soon became Grandpa David to their children.

David was very active in Silverton United Church. David and Barbara enjoyed family visits, trips and the many, many friends gathered along the way.

In December 2014, David moved with Barbara to Calgary. He was very happy in Calgary and quickly engaged with the community. David was loved by all. He was very involved in the Wild Rose United Church. He volunteered teaching computer skills, and in the local senior’s club he became known as 'Our Local Philosopher.'

David was predeceased by parents, Russ and Emily Coulter; brothers, Gavin and Gordon Coulter, and nephew Dean Coulter.

Left to mourn are Barbara Coulter, Calgary, AB; Allan (Pauline), Saint Rose, MB; Gavin, Saint Rose, MB; and grandson Colton Bell, Red Deer, AB. Also left to mourn are sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and cousins.
