David Kotelniski Obituary

David (Davey) Kotelniski was born on April 2, 1962 in Birtle, MB.  He attended school in Foxwarren until Grade 9 then graduated at Birtle Collegiate in 1980.

While working on the farm his dad and brother, he also worked with BWS Construction on the side. When his dad retired from farming and moved to Winnipeg.  Days of small-time farming were numbered and as result, machinery and cattle were sold, and land rented out.  In 2003 Davey took up employment with Russell Redi-Mix as a machine operator/truck driver.  Currently he was employed with the new company.

Davey always enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and curling over the years.  Country cruises with good buddies were always a weekend thing.  The more country cruises, the more friends he made.

Davey was predeceased by his parents Bert and Nancy Kotelniski.  Davey leaves to mourn companion Charley Sabeski of Shoal Lake, brother Dale (Margaret) Kotelniski of Birtle, nieces Brittany (Brady) and great niece Hadlee of Miniota, Dalene (Braden) of Ottawa and Nancy of Brandon.

From Nikki..

Well, I guess the day is here where we have to say goodbye. I wish it didn’t have to be this way. But there’s a song that goes “It’s not my place to question, only God knows why”.  And it’s true, only God knows why it was your time.

I am grateful for the years that we had together, I am grateful for the love you had for us and the memories you gave us throughout our entire childhood out at the farm. You are the reason I love Lord of the Rings to this day. As a kid those gifts were like gold. Better than gold. You were, I’m sure still are, the most tell-it-like-it-is honest person I’ve ever known.  You weren’t afraid of hurting anyone’s feelings, Imao heck if anyone was afraid of that they wouldn’t be near you anyway.  I hope one day I will be able to not care what other people say and not take grief from no one the way you did.  God, this hurts so bad, but I know you are at peace now.  Help grampa take good care of Shiloh for me and give Buddy and all the ladies hugs for me, including Miss Sparky.  I know it was Gramma Nancy who came to get you and Grampa Bert. You are free now.  Free from your illnesses and your own suffering.  Never to suffer again.  I will miss you forever and I wish this was all a dream, but it isn’t.    I will see you again some day but until then, here’s to you.  I love you uncle.
