David Anthony Lundgren

David was the youngest child of Olga and Budd Lundgren. He was born in Langenburg Saskatchewan, grew up with siblings Keith and Skyla on the family farm at Marchwell Saskatchewan.

He attended Marchwell school, then completed high school at Langenburg. After grade 12, he attended a year at University of Saskatchewan, Faculty of Agriculture, Calgary technical school, and worked for a brief time on the oil rigs at Brooks Alberta. He returned to the home community, worked at the local potash mines, in various capacities including “cage” operator and farmed. Gradually, he and his brother Keith took over more of the farming from their Dad. He retired from farmer owner to farmer “hired help” in the fall of 2025. He was looking forward to the role of seasonal worker with his nephew, Ryan.

David took on the role of partner to Donna and step dad to her three children, Corey, Nick and Megan Schmidt He immensely enjoyed all of his family and extended family the grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He made many miles travelling to hockey, ball, football, dance recitals, and school activities. He stayed involved especially after the unexpected passing of Donna in 2019.

Although he wouldn’t have described himself as a care giver, he was. He was always checking on his Dad, the families, and friends. (Including the farm cats)

David suffered a medical event on Sunday, June 28. Despite the expert help from EMS and volunteer fire fighters, he did not survive.

He was predeceased by his mother Olga (2010), fiancé Donna (2019), all of his aunts and uncles. Predeceased by cousins Leonard (Winnifred) Kopelchuk, Lawrence Klutz, Sherry Kopelchuk, Joanne Lundgren, parents in law Clara and William Renschke, brother in laws, Wilfred Schultz, Fred Roulston

He leaves to mourn his passing his father, Budd, brother Keith (Darlene), sister Skyla, stepchildren Corey (Margaret) Myles and Archer Schmidt; Nick (Shauna) Lacey, Rhett and Mesa Schmidt, and Megan Schmidt (Braden Karchewski )

Niece Christine (Blair) Zoe and Tessa Gottschalk; nephew Ryan (Jenilee) Lukas and Blakely Lundgren; niece Patricia (Brad) stepdaughter Berlyn Bibby

His sister in laws Caroline Zawatsky-Schultz and son Wayne Zawatsky (Audrey Tataryn), Joyce (Barry) Schultz, Darlene Roulston and her children Scott (Liz) Roulston and Nikki Zivin and their families

His cousins; Rodney (Barb) Lundgren and Ray Lundgren and their families; Lorraine Klutz, Arnold (Donna) Makowsky, Carol (Michael) Yaholnitsky; Audrey (Ron) Hoehn, Allan Kopelchuk and their families.

To the Langenburg ambulance service and the volunteer firemen who attended. It is especially hard for first responders in smaller communities where they may/ do know the person they are trying to save. Special thanks to those and all who have helped.
