David Leslie Silversides

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Leslie Silversides, on May 3, 2024, in Bandon Manitoba at the age of eighty-nine. Dave was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Mable Silversides, and his older brother Gordon and sister Shirley. Dave is survived by his son Tim (Lynn), daughters Lauren and Shelda (Dan), four grand children and six great grand children.

Dave started his career as an X-ray Technician in Regina and married Rita in 1956. Dave, Rita and their family lived in several small communities across Saskatchewan until 1975 when they moved to Russell where he assumed the role of Hospital Administrator and Rita later became the Administrator for Russell’s Personal Care Home.

Dave enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, reading, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, and was very involved in his church and other volunteer positions within the community.

Dave’s private funeral was officiated by Dave Howell at Braendle-Bruce’s Chapel on May 8th with family and close friends in attendance. For those who so desire, donations may be made in Dave’s memory to Russell Hospital’s Expanding Cancer Care site.
