Doreen was born in Binscarth, Manitoba (Selby Town) on September 21, 1942, to parents Ralph and Mary Fleury. She was the second eldest among five siblings.
Growing up in Binscarth, Doreen initially spoke only French when she commenced her schooling. Education held a significant place in her heart, leading her to pursue further studies at Red River College to become an LPN. Through various courses, she eventually transitioned into a role as a social worker. Doreen actively participated in the Metis Local as a chairperson in Pine Falls and the Metis Women Association.
She was blessed with two children, Darren and Jackie, as well as five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, Doreen cherished her family above all else. Her grandchildren were her source of joy, and she took immense pride in witnessing their achievements. Family gatherings and trips across Manitoba and Saskatchewan to visit relatives, along with watching her grandchildren play basketball, were some of her favorite pastimes.
Doreen's love for her family knew no bounds, and she consistently prioritized their well-being. Known for her incredibly fast feet during the Red River jig, she always succeeded in bringing smiles to her grandchildren's faces with her dance moves.
Doreen also loved all her fur babies Tiggy, Garry, and Gizmo.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Mike Dupont (Red), son Darren LaRose, daughter-in-law Wanda LaRose, grandchildren Heather LaRose (Quintin) and Samantha LaRose (Tyler), daughter Jackie Anderson, son-in-law Marty Boulanger, and grandchildren Raven Boulanger, Skyler Boulanger (Dylan), and Robin Boulanger (Katie). Doreen is also survived by her brother Donnie Fleury, sister-in-law Georgina Houle, brother Terry Fleury, sister-in-law Brenda Fleury, sister in-laws Therese Fleury and Carol Britton, and Carol's husband Vern.
Doreen has now rejoined her loved ones in the afterlife, including her parents Ralph and Mary Fleury, brothers Eli Fleury, Stanley Fleury, and Kenny Fleury.
