Earl Kitz Obituary

In loving memory of Earl Raymond Kitz who was called to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the age of 75, at the Regina General Hospital.

Earl was born on November 7, 1946 to Harold and Margaret (Adams) Kitz in Russell, Manitoba.  He was the second oldest of a family of five boys.  He was baptized into the Christian faith on December 1, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church Landestreu and was confirmed on October 28, 1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Landestreu.  Earl attended Landestreu Country School and MacNutt School.  Growing up as a kid he enjoyed playing ball, riding horses and getting into mischief with his brothers.  On July 26, 1969 Earl married Sandra (Putland).  Earl and Sandra first lived in Langenburg until building a house on the Kitz farm where they still resided.  Earl and Sandra were blessed with 3 daughters and a son.  Earl worked in carpentry and then began farming with his father and brothers and later in life with his son. From a young age Earl and his brothers played musical instruments and played in a band for many years providing entertainment at dances in the area. Earl loved music and nightly you could find him listening to polka music. Earl’s passion was farming and he enjoyed the harvest season every year.  He instilled his love for farming in his children and grandchildren.  Earl enjoyed curling and watching sports, especially hockey, when it involved his children and grandchildren.  Earl was also an active member in the church and community pasture board.  Faith, Family and Farming were all very important to Earl.  He was very proud of the life he made and his children’s accomplishments.

Earl was predeceased by his parents Harold and Margaret Kitz, Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Doris Putland, brother Barry Kitz, Sister-in-laws Linda Kitz, Bev Kitz, and brother in-laws Arnold Van Caeseele, Dave Hamers, Lloyd Farmer, Ron Putland, and Barry Strong.
