Edith Erika Yellowega passed away peacefully at the Grandview Personal Care Home on August 23, 2023 at the age of 88 years.
Edith was born on December 18, 1934 in the Municipality of Boulton to Edwin and Minnie Strunk. She had one brother and three sisters. She grew up in the Shevlin area and attended school there as well.
Edith married Steve Yellowega in Shortdale Manitoba and they farmed together until Steve’s sudden death in 1982. Shortly afterwards, she moved to Roblin where she kept busy with her large garden, babysitting, housecleaning and volunteering to deliver Meals on Wheels. Mom was fiercely independent and walked everywhere in Roblin to get her groceries, mail and general shopping. She dedicated her life to her church and thoroughly enjoyed the times she spent at the church making perogies, cabbage rolls, and Fall suppers.
She is survived by her son, Reginald Yellowega of Biggar, SK along with grandchildren Christine (Kris) Lynch; Michael (Lindsay) Yellowega; Stephanie Yellowega (Matthew); Jennifer Yellowega (Dustin); Sarah Yellowega and Megan Yellowega along with great grandchildren Anna, Kale, Amelia, Liam, Greyson, Lily and Ellie.
She is also survived by her daughter Darcie (Jon) Gaudry of Lethbridge AB and granddaughters Erica (Derek) Hatch and Karen (Mark) Pries along with great grandchildren Olivia, Claire, Bria and Brinley.
Edith was predeceased by her husband Steve, her parents Edwin & Minnie Strunk, her brother Kurt Strunk, her sisters Hilda (Alton) Schultz, Ruth (Emil) Liske and Hannah Liske.
