Elwyn Gordon Steele

Elwyn Gordon Steele passed away July 4th, 2022 in Binscarth, MB at the age of 84 years. Elwyn is survived by his Partner Beanne Robinson & Family; Sons Rob Steele (Karen), Dennis Steele (Tanya), Darrell Steele (Sharon), Kevin Steele (Christine), Steven Steele (Sherri); Daughter Brenda Steele Domanski (Jim); Grandchildren Ashley Moyer, Devan Steele, Shelby Steele, Nicole Steele, Chaelynn Steele, Dylan Steele, Justin Steele, Bryce Young, Brodie Steele; Great-grandchild Braden Moyer; Sisters Gladys Rainkie, Linda Mauthie; Brothers Wilburt Steele (Louise), Bob Steele (Kathy) and his dear friend Murray McIntyre (Darlene) and many nieces and nephews. Elwyn is predeceased by his parents Reginald & Fern (Dann) Steele; Sister Audrey (Steele) Glover; Grandson Derek Steele; Nephew Kenny Rainkie.

Elwyn was born in Glenella, MB on a Pile of rocks as he would tell everyone. He moved to Riding Mountain where he grew up. Elwyn married in 1960 to our Mother Sonia Sichewski. Elwyn drove truck for many Trucking Companies for 51 years and had his own trucking business, Steele Trucking towards the end of his trucking career. Elwyn passions for Horses, gardening, cooking with secret recipes and his love for country music (Merle Haggard) which he loved to play his guitar to. In 1996 he moved to Binscarth, MB after selling the farm to be with his partner Beanne. For the winter months he cut wood with his son Steven and then ended up building a little cabin so they could stay warm on those cold winter days. Elwyn loved his cabin. He would spend many days out there just relaxing. He loved to visit and share his stories with anyone that would listen, he had a great memory. Elwyn will be truly missed by all his family and dear friends.
