Esther Bahsler left for her eternal home on May 18, 2024 at the age of 94.
Esther was the 4th of 8 children born to George and Sophie Seib on the family farm, by Duff, SK. As a young lady she left home to go work at the Fort San TB center. During this time she met the love of her life, a farmer named Walter from the Marchwell area. They were married in 1953 and she joined Walter on the family farm where they lived, laughed, cried, worked (a lot) and raised a family.
Life on the farm was all consuming and consisted of a huge garden, milking cows, raising pigs and chickens along with grain farming. Visitors were always welcomed with her warm smile and great hospitality, which always included plenty of good food (especially her famous cabbage rolls and homemade buns). Esther had a very strong Christian faith and was actively involved in the church her whole life. She was the pillar of her family and believed strongly in the power of prayer.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Walter, her parents, her brothers Karl, Reinhold and Edward, her daughter Gloria and daughter-in-law Barbara.
Left to cherish her memory are son Gordon (Sandra), daughter Bev Hungle (Mike), and son-in-law Ken Phipps (Elizabeth); her five grandchildren Jason (Jill), Kellie (Simon), Colin (Laura), Kyle (Brooke) and Courtney (Drew); her three great-grandchildren Bryn, Owen and Natalie; her sisters Violet and Evelyn (Ed) and brothers Albert (Rhoda) and John (Ellen); many nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
Mom's legacy of faith, love and dedication will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Special thanks to the great staff at the Langenburg Special Care Home for the wonderful care they provided to her the last couple of years.
The Service will be held Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
