Esther Haas Obituary

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel.  Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant, Esther.

Esther Constance Haas, daughter of George & Louise Andres, was born on September 24, 1946.  She was baptized in the name of the Father & of the Son & of the Holy Spirit at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Landestreu on October 20, 1946. She confessed her baptismal faith in the right of Confirmation on July 3, 1960 in Landestreu and was admitted to receive the medicine of immortality, Christ’s life-giving body and blood.  Esther was joined together in holy matrimony on April 23, 1946 to George Haas at Landestreu.  Esther passed away on November 17th, 2024 at the farm with George at her side.  She is survived by her husband George of 59.5 years.  Her three children, Kelly Haas and his 3 daughters; Page (Jordan) Volk, Nicole (Justin Price) and Kellianne; Cheryl (Guy Yanke) and daughter Mary; Dawn (Randy) McDonell and children Tom (Shawna), and little Charlie, Jackson, Madison (Josh) Daniels and John.  She is also survived by her sisters Jean Shuler and Madge Frieze, sister-in-law Diane Andres and many nieces, nephews and many friends.  Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.

A circle of life will be completed at the Landestreu church where Mom first caught Dad’s eye when she was teaching Sunday School.  She was baptized, confirmed, married and will now be laid to rest at this Church.

Mom’s favourite kind of a visit was a wiener roast in the back yard with all the kids, grand kids and one great-grandchild.  Mom’s best birthday gift was a completed harvest where her combine driving skills were a big part of the job.  Her birthday cakes that she made for the grandkids were always enjoyed with delight.

So many people will say that the food Mom served to whomever came for a visit was so good.  Mom was known for her huge, kind heart and wonderful laugh.  She was the go-to for heart matters.  She loved fishing and hunting, provincial politics and talking about the Bible.  She had an unshakeable faith and she loved morning devotions and gospel programs.  Mom and Dad were regular congregant members at Christ Lutheran Church in Langenburg until her health started to fail her.

She is pre-deceased by her parents, George and Louise Andres, brother Lloyd (Marlene) Andres, Frank Andres, Sister Eunice (Art) Schmidt, brothers-in-law Carl Schuler & Fred Frieze, nephew Todd Shuler and niece Michelle Andres.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.”
