Eva Lillian Dunn (née Cook) passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, with her loving family by her side.
Born on October 4, 1937, Eva was the eldest of nine children (Eva, Edna, Johnnie, Donna, Doug, Albert, Sharon, Calvin and Carla) born to Thomas Edward and Lillian Kate Cook. Growing up in a large family shaped the strong work ethic, resilience, and deep love for family that defined her entire life.
On October 30, 1957, she married William Robert Harvey Dunn. They raised four children — William, Donald, Glenda, and John — while working side by side on their cattle and grain farm. Eva was never one to shy away from hard work. She milked cows and shipped milk to the local creamery in Russell, all while helping manage the demands of the farm. In addition, she worked off the farm managing the Co-op gas bar, proving there was little she couldn’t handle.
Their farm was more than a place of work — it was a gathering place. It was always bustling with extra family, friends, and countless BBQs. Eva loved a full house, laughter in the yard, and making sure everyone was well fed and well cared for.
Eva lost her beloved William R.H. on January 2, 1991, at the young age of 58. As a young widow, she faced life with strength and determination. In time, she reconnected with an old friend and former dance partner, Andrew Perreault, whom she later married. Square dancing became one of their favorite pastimes — a joy that brought music, movement, and companionship back into her life.
Eva later worked as a cashier at the IGA grocery store, where she truly found her element. She loved people. Her greatest joy was sending customers away from her till with a smile — or better yet, a burst of laughter. Her quick wit and unforgettable one-liners became legendary among family and friends.
A passionate gardener, Eva grew, harvested, and preserved a massive garden each year to provide for her family. Her home was always stocked, her table always welcoming, and her heart always open. She was hardworking, generous, and deeply loving — always giving herself to those who needed her most.
Eva will be greatly missed by her children:
William Dunn; Donald Dunn (Brenda); Glenda (Dwight Pollock); and John Dunn (Missy).
She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren:
Donald’s - Leanne (Matthew Glasman); Kayla (Kevin Falloon); Daniel Dunn (Tomina); David Dunn (Marina);
Glenda’s - Carlin Pollock (deceased); Jasmine (Mark Pounder); Kristi-Lyn (Sean Buckley); Brandi (Branden Crowe);
John’s - Bryce (Hayley), Blake (Karen), Drighton, Tayalin, and Jonathon Dunn.
She was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren.
Though she has left this world, her laughter still echoes in our memories, her lessons live on in our hands and hearts, and her love remains the thread that ties our family together.
