Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with Thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Gladys Viola Kotzer.
Gladys was born August 4,1921, a child of August and May (Burton) Severin. She was baptized Oct. 16, 1921 and was confirmed on August 16,1936 in the Lutheran faith.
Gladys married Edward Kotzer Oct. 2,1941. They were blessed with two sons, Allen and Elwood. Her family grew and Gladys was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Gladys passed away December 5, 2024 at the Langenburg Centennial Care Home.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Edward.
Gladys is survived by sons; Allen (Susan) and their two sons Mark (Laura) and their children Lochlan, Miah and Olivia, Clayton (Evelyn) and their children Riley, Brodie, Grace and Fiona; Elwood (Terry) and their children Christie (Doug Milne) and their children Jaxson and Ryder, Jaylene (Kelly Quibell) and their children Sadie, Emily and Rudy, Joelene (Christopher Mitschke) and their children Charlee, Eddie and Casey.
Gladys loved her Lord and was delighted to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gladys and Eddie farmed the family homestead. She was very active in the operation of the farm as well as a homemaker. She enjoyed camping, traveling and fishing. Eddie passed in 1985 and Gladys continued living in Langenburg until she passed.
Gladys was active in her church Ladies Aid group and New Horizon Senior Club where she served as treasurer for many years. She organized many road trips with her lady friends and loved to socialize with friends and neighbors.
Gladys had many hobbies, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting and tendering to her garden, especially her flowers.
Special Thank you to the Staff at the Centennial Care home for the love and exceptional care that Mom received while living at the home.
“We give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good and His mercies endureth forever. Amen”
