Obituary

Greg was born in Roblin, Manitoba on August 27, 1959, the son of Bill and Marie Radford.  He grew up on the farm in the Makaroff District, later moving to Roblin.

Greg started his career at age 18 in the coal mines in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, and the oil rigs with Jomax Drilling.  He then pursued his mechanical career as a licenced automotive and heavy-duty mechanic and millwright.  In 1993 Greg started his own business, Radford Farm & Auto, and still did small jobs after taking a position at Bunge.  He started his position as a millwright and later moved into management in the maintenance department.  Greg retired in 2018 but still kept busy with some contract work for Solon Core.

Greg and Kim met in Roblin while home from the rigs.  They quickly became inseparable, and their journey began.  They married on May 22, 1982.  Erin was born June 27, 1986 and Brett on August 4, 1989.  Greg was actively involved with whatever the kids did and spent much time at the rink or the gym cheering, coaching, and driving endless miles.  This still continued as his granddaughter grew up.

Greg’s interests were travelling, fishing, ice fishing, golfing, ski-dooing, camping, and hunting.  Greg also helped any way he could on the farm with his brothers-in-law, brothers, and father-in-law.

Being close to his family was his purpose. Lending a helping hand, babysitting, dogsitting, building fences, fixing cars, he was never too busy to help out.

Greg is survived by his wife Kim, of 41 years;  children Erin (Kyle) Holton and granddaughter Sydney; and Brett (Tanja) Radford and grandsons Henry and Jack.  Also surviving are siblings Sharon Grundy, Wayne and Marion Radford, Garry and Noreen Radford, Bob and Shirley Radford, Jeanette and Brian Becker, Dennis Hlady (in-law), Randy and Carla Radford, Calvin and Geri Radford, Glen Radford, and Kevin Radford, In-laws Fran and Bob Wasyliw and Darren and Coreen Ungrin.  The extended families include almost 50 nieces and nephews and great nieces and great-nephews that all have a special and individual memory of Uncle Greg.

Greg is predeceased by Bill and Marie Radford (parents), Bob and Dianne Prouse (sister), Debbie Hlady (sister), Kenny Grundy (brother-in-law), Sandy Radford (sister-in-law), Brenda Issel (niece), Barry Ungrin (brother-in-law), Phillip Ungrin (nephew), Jim and Bertha Ungrin (in-laws), and Pat Ungrin (in-law).
