Helen Margaret Schappert of Marchwell, Saskatchewan passed away at the age of 91 years at the Langenburg Centennial Special Care Home on July 15, 2024.
Helen was born February 10, 1933 northeast of Langenburg to her parents Hulda and Henry Betke. Helen lived in Langenburg/Marchwell area her whole life with the exception of 1957-1962 when they lived at Blutcher, Saskatchewan and from 2019-2023 when she lived in the Morris Lodge in Bangor, Saskatchewan.
Helen was a very hard worker, she had the post office in Blutcher with two small children, always had a huge garden that she shared with everyone and helped her husband farm. She loved all sorts of handiwork, quilting, knitting and crocheting.
Helen will be remembered by her children; Faith Pilgrim (Maurice) and Marlo Schappert (Theresa). Grandchildren; Tanya, Mark and Vicki along with 6 great grandchildren. Sister; Betty Tomlinson (Betke), Sister-in-law; Judy Schappert and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, her husband; Kingsley Schappert (1995), her sister; Rose Mehrer (Betke), her brother; Walter Betke, her niece; Corinne Elliott (Mehrer) and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
Helen will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Langenburg Town Cemetery.
