Ila Robinson of Russell, Manitoba, passed away July 10th, 2020 at Russell Personal Care Home (PCH) at the age of 97.
Ila was born October 17th, 1922 to John and Mabel Andrew in the Ingleside School District on a farm about 8 miles south of Marchwell, SK. She had 3 sisters and 1 brother. She was the second eldest. As a child she enjoyed being outdoors more than in the house playing with dolls. She went to a country school up to Grade 8. At age 14, she worked on farms doing housework and learning to cook. During WWII she worked in Ontario at a Hair Cloth Factory making war supplies, as well as General Motors on the Spark Plug assembly line. During these years she attended a church where she asked Christ into her life. She loved and served Him her whole life. After the war, she married Bob Robinson, and they farmed near Binscarth until retirement. She moved to Russell in 2010 and then to the Russell PCH in 2018. Ila wanted us to thank all of the staff for their support, care, and compassion during her time there.
