Ivan Nernberg Obituary

Ivan was born in Russell on October 24, 1955 to proud parents Enid and Henry Nernberg.

He attended Hudson, Inglis, and Russell schools. He had spent time in Calgary, Alberta working carpentry for a short time. He then went to work at Indian Lake, Manitoba and did some construction jobs, but he   decided he wanted to live back home. He then started his career at IMC K1, now Mosaic, in 1974 at the age of 19. He would spend 44 years working there retiring in 2019.

On November 1, 1975 he married Mildred Senek and they lived in Russell. They had two girls, Jolene born on August 1st, 1980, and Jaclyn born on June 14, 1985. Ivan suddenly lost Mildred in December of 1987.

He spent the next few years dedicating his time to his daughters and family.

He later remarried Rhonda Davidson on September 28, 1991. They had one daughter together, Sarah on July 15, 1991. Miranda and Justin  also joined their new family. They soon after moved out to an acreage north of Silverton.

Ivan was always a hard worker and was more then happy to help family and neighbours on days off, even after coming off of a night shift. He would never pass up an opportunity to jump in a tractor, help at the PMU farm, go to the neighbours to lend a helping hand and a visit. He was always there when you needed him.

He also enjoyed wood working, fishing, deer hunting, sledding and especially, horse back riding. He was always found working on a new project around the acreage.

In 2012 he moved to Langenburg, Saskatchewan to be closer to his daughters.

His biggest joys in life were all his girls, especially his granddaughters, and he had been so looking forward to meeting the newest one.

The girls will forever miss their “Gampa”, and we will all miss dearly the whisker rubs and pony rides.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred; parents, Enid and Henry; father in law Eli Senek; mothers in law Lena Senek and Margaret Davidson, along with aunts and uncles.

Ivan passed away peacefully and leaves to mourn his loving family  Jolene (Ryan), Jaclyn, Sarah (Matt), and his granddaughters Reese, Payton, and Milena, as well Miranda, Justin and Rhonda, his siblings Grace Liske (Randy), Gwen Senek, Joyce Lee, Lindsay (Donna), Neal, Brad and Scott (Karen), along with all of his nieces and nephews.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
