J. Wilfred Wildeman Obituary

J. Wilfred Wildeman of Inglis, Manitoba passed away peacefully on December 27, 2020 at the Grandview Personal Care Home, at the age of 90 years.

Wilfred was born on October 7, 1930 at the Grandview Hospital to John and Lena. He was the eldest of five children and was raised on the family farm N.E. of Inglis.

Wilfred attended Hudson School until grade 6 but his Dad needed help on the farm and education was put on hold. Cutting and splitting wood in winter was a yearly job. As well as tending cattle and general farm work. Wilfred worked with his dad until 1961.

On November 25, 1961 Wilfred married his one true love Rita Liske. He moved her only two miles down the road where they farmed and continued to live until Wilfred’s health deteriorated and he was moved to the care home.

Attending church with his family on Sunday was very important to him. He was on the Church council and rang the bell for many years. Wilfred enjoyed hunting, fishing and various holidays with good friends Bert and Bernice, as well as camping.  His biggest pride and joy was his family, his grandsons and the Centennial family farm.

Wilfred will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rita of 59 years, children; Sherry Robinson, Kimberly (Frank) Runne, Quentin; grandsons Joshua Robinson, Zachary Wildeman; brothers, Garfield (Marg), Herb (Shirley), Rodney (Judy), sister Wilma (Walter) Johnson; brother-in-law Larry Liske, sister-in-law Lyla (Raymond) Bomback, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Wilfred was predeceased by his parents John and Lena (Nerbas), nephew Brian Johnson, In-laws Adolph and Lily (Hetter) Liske, brothers-in-Law Wallace Liske and John Liske; sisters-in-law Linda Liske and Marilyn Liske.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
