Jacquelyn O'Connor Obituary

Jacquelyn O'Connor passed away quietly on September 3, 2022, at the Esterhazy SK hospital leaving to mourn her husband Ken Mack, daughter Desiree Bjornson (Kirk) and grand children Jakob and Olivia. Siblings Kathy Morris, Hal Phelps (child Sara Beth), Charles Phelps and Sara Clevenger (Mark Clevenger) children Adam and Alli, and Johnny Phelps (children John, Jamie, Debbie and Kathy).

Jacquelyn O’Connor was born August 20th, 1943, at Maryville Tennessee to Walther Phelps and Jackie Lee Phelps (nee)Henderson (predeceased).  She was the first of eight children and following her was her sister Clara Phelps Perkins (predeceased), Walter Phelps Jr.(predeceased), Kathy Morris, Hal Phelps, Charles Phelps and Sara Clevenger, and Johnny Phelps.

As a young lady was very much influenced by her Grandmother Sallie Russell Phelps.  Sallie’s influence on Jacquelyn would serve her throughout her entire life. This was very apparent as she was an excellent manager of our financial funds and knew the value of hard work.

On February 27 of 1977 Jacquelyn married Ross O’Connor and they resided at their farm in Louisville TN until Ross passed away on November 17, 1979.

Jacquelyn remained widowed until meeting Ken Mack in 1987.   They corresponded for one year until deciding to meet in person.  The initial meeting was a success and Ken followed his love to Tennessee, they married on April 27, 1988.    The two worked hard developing their Country Acres property and creating a wonderful life.  Once they had established Country Acres, they were then able to begin travelling to Canada every year and spending their summers at the Mack homestead.

Jacquelyn enjoyed the threshing and farm picnics that her and Ken hosted at the farm.    She loved seeing everyone happy and always went out of her way to make sure they were all well cared for and well fed.  She always said that family is everything and you stick together no matter what.

Jacquelyn’s life changed 5 years ago as her health began declining.  She no longer was able to enjoy all the family and friends that enjoyed visiting her home.  Her overall zest for life had begun to slowly fade as Ken became her primary caregiver as her health slowly declined.

Her grandmother Sallie Russell had passed away 52 years earlier on September 3, 1970, and Jacquelyn's wishes were to be buried beside her.  She will be laid to rest beside Sallie at the Holston College Cemetery in Louisville TN.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
