James (Jim) Gallant born April 30th, 1953 in Angusville, Manitoba to parents Tony and Anne Gallant. He was the third of four children. He married Patricia Trinder on June 22, 1972, soon after they had their two sons; Micheal and Ley. In 1980 he started working at the potash mine in Esterhazy and in 1981 they moved to Churchbridge. Jim served as a council member for the town of Churchbridge from 2006-2009, he went on to be the longest serving mayor serving 3 terms as mayor from 2009-2020. In 2021 he returned as a council member and remained a council member until he passed. Jim joined the Churchbridge Volunteer Fire Department in 1989 and received recognition for his 30 years of service. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife Patricia (Trinder). James is survived by his siblings; Richard (Marilynn), Shirley (Gary), Walley (Jenny); as well as his two sons Mike (Felica) and Ley; his grandchildren Elysia and Mary; step-grandson Christopher; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
