James (Jim) William Wilson

James (Jim) Wilson of Birtle, Manitoba passed away on August 27, 2022 at the Sunnyside Manor Personal Care Home, Birtle with his wife of 47 years by his side at the age of 85 years.

Jim was born in McAuley, Manitoba to parents John and Ann Wilson. Jim was raised on the farm and attended McAuley school. In 1973 Jim moved to Birtle, and met his wife Irene. They were married in 1975. He became a father to Donna, Brian and John.  Then he and Irene had 2 more children, Mark & Wendy.  They lived on the farm and moved to town.            

Jim worked all over. He was a truck driver, construction worker, farmer, and with the Town of Birtle. After he retired from work, he cleaned yards, cut grass, shoveled snow and did odd jobs for seniors as well as delivering their mail. He also read hydro meters, did lots of walking, spending time with family, friends, also visiting in Winnipeg, Rocanville and Brandon. Jim also enjoyed fishing, T.V., reading, newspapers and flyers. 

He was predeceased by his sister Jackie Wilson; his parents Ann & John Wilson; son Brian Ternowesky and son-in-law Darwin Fleury.

He is survived by his wife Irene of 47 years; 2 sons Mark (Kristy) Wilson of St. Lazare and John Ternowesky of Brandon; 2 daughters; Wendy (Brent) Leduc of Winnipeg and Donna (Dave) Teters of Rocanville, Saskatchewan; 8 grandchildren Ethan Leduc of Winnipeg, Gavin Fleury (Laura & Carly) of Birtle, Riley Wilson, Brady Wilson & Marcus Wilson of St. Lazare, Brianna Ternowesky (Eric) of Brandon, Brooklyn Hamm (Jacob) of Brandon, Nicole (Daniel) Lysac of Winnipeg and one great-grandchild Myra Ternowesky.

Pallbearers are Gavin Fleury, John Ternowesky, Dave Teters, Brent Leduc, Jacob Hamm and Barry Fleury.
