Joanne Carol Patton was born on August 22, 1950 to Bill and Lil Patton in Saskatoon, Sk and died May 21, 2025 in Russell, MB. It might seem like a short journey from one place to another, but those years in between encompassed a life of adventure in all 4 Western provinces and over 37 houses. All of which she packed and unpacked herself. She loved to be busy.
She is survived by her one true love, John Douglas whom she met while living in Winnipeg, MB. They did everything together: worked, golfed, lived a big life. She is also survived by her siblings Allan and his partner Diane, Kathy and her husband Rob, and Barb and her husband Bill; her children, Sara and Jenny and their spouses Matt and Greg; and her many grandchildren whom she loved more than anything else in this world - William, Eleanor, Douglas, Nadia, and Dougal.
She was a fighter, but unfortunately, the fight with cancer was just one thing she couldn’t win. But her fierce independence, her loyalty to those she loved, her laughter, and her legend will live on forever in the memory of those of us still here.
We love you and miss you already, our beautiful Joanne.
