John (Jack) Graham Obituary

At 85 years of age Jack passed away peacefully at the Russell Hospital after his second battle with cancer.  He was predeceased by his wife and dance partner Pat (Weselak) and his brother-in-law Ronald Tanner.  Remembered by his stepchildren Betty (Dave) Guyon, 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and Wayne Pomehichuk.  Siblings Roy (LaVonne), Margaret (Dave) Scurfield and Heather Tanner will miss him dearly.

Jack attended Binscarth School receiving his Grade XI diploma. He left home to work on the Saskatchewan River Dam for a year.  He returned home to join his brother Roy in a Plumbing/Heating/Trenching business. He continued in this business until his retirement.  Running the backhoe was his favourite job.

In 1976-77 he received his certification as a private pilot.  He loved flying, he and Pat enjoyed many flying holidays. He was always ready to help at Flying Club events.  Other passions over the years included playing the sousaphone, umping baseball, and dancing.

Jack belonged to the Russell Masonic Lodge for many years and was their Treasurer until last week!

Jack’s first bout with cancer was 15 years ago.  He had many abdominal surgeries…we thought he should have a zipper!

This past year he sold his lovely home and moved into Elks Legion Court.  He loved his little suite and spending time with his coffee buddies.

In October cancer struck again, he was such a trouper.  We are happy his health struggles are over.  Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Russell Hospital and Cancer Care in Winnipeg.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
