Johnny was born in the Lakedale Silver Creek district on April 9, 1933 to Alex and Jenny Mazur (nee Lazaruk). There were 8 children in their family with John being the second youngest child.
He was a lifelong farmer which began with his father and carried on with his wife, sons and grandsons. Johnny married Evangeline Kawka on October 29, 1960. They lived on the Mazur homestead where they raised their 2 sons Bradley and Kelvin. He then moved to Russell in 1993 where he eventually retired from farming.
We will always remember him by his moustache and sideburns, his loud cackle and his enjoyment of hunting, fishing and playing his violin. He loved to play pool and cards and have competitive games of crib with anyone willing to challenge him to the game. He was a favorite to many of his nieces and nephews who always enjoyed visiting him. He will forever be cherished by his 5 grandchildren who always got a kick out of their Gigi with the things he said and did.
Rest Peacefully Dad and we will meet again in Pearly Glory. We Love you and will miss you dearly.
