Judith ‘Judy’ Ann Bedwell was born March 18, 1949 to Jim & Mae (McDonell) Bedwell, the oldest of 5.
She grew up on the family farm, attending school at Ingelside, then later finishing high school in Langenburg, graduating in 1967.
Judy attended 3 years of university at U of S.
In 1972 she marrried Barry Roberts of Shellmouth, and at the end of the same year welcomed their 1st child Tracey. Colin came along later in 1974.
In 1977, Mom & Dad purchased the Kountry Kitchen, a seasonal food & ice cream drive thru. Later to be renamed BJ’s Dairyville.
Mom was known for her homemade hamburgers & soft ice cream. She was an avid curler and golfer.
In 1999 she was in a MVA , leaving her, in the years to come , struggling physically.
Mom found great joy in her painting & stained glass art, making many stepping stones & window ornaments, along with her love of ships that had the grandkids in a ‘discussion’ as to who could have the paintings.
She attended many art retreats down in Shellmouth with her art ladies group. At any time through the summer & fall you would find Mom with her Boler, down in the Shellmouth valley or at Millwood painting. She enjoyed an Alaskan cruise with sister Marie in 2000 , stopping to get a quick visit with sister Heather & Susan, and a trip to Mexico with Colin & family in 2012.
Her greatest joy being her 5 grandkids and she shared a unique relationship with each.
Mom was predeceased by her parents Jim (2016) & Mae (2003).
Left to cherish the many memories are Tracey & Brad Schmidt, Lucas ,Kyra, Coy; Colin & Tammy Roberts, Keelan, Kaylee; sisters Marie & Alf Toy, Heather Bedwell & George, Susan Bedwell & Ken, & brother Mark Bedwell along with her nieces & nephews, & cousins whom she had a special connection with.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
