Judy Ann Prescott

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Judy Ann Prescott (nee Fleury) of Birtle, MB on September 26, 2023 at the age of 63 years, in Saskatoon, SK.

Judy was born on March 13, 1960 in Birtle, MB. Father Merrick Fleury and Mother Ida Fleury raised Judy, alongside her siblings-Gordon and Karen, in the Beulah and Uno area.

Judy graduated in Birtle and decided to try out new things in life by moving to Winnipeg, MB. That is where she met her first love, John Costa and had 2 children. Carina was born in Winnipeg in 1984 and in 1989 is when their son Cory was born. Judy didn’t like the idea of raising her kids in the city so that is when she decided to move her family back to Birtle.

Judy was predeceased by her dad, mom and husband Gerard.

Surviving are daughter Carina (Roger), son Cory (Stephanie); Grandkids Ethan, Tyson, Samantha, Trinity, Raelyn, Natalie, Emily and Riley; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Hard working and always trying her best, Judy was an office administrator for many places, including the town of Birtle and was an EMT for a few years. Later in life she then met her best friend, Gerard Prescott. In 2003 Gerard and Judy married. They had a life together with different adventures, moving to Leaf Rapids, MB and to Portage la Prairie, but they both wanted to move back home to be closer to the kids and grandbabies. This is when Judy decided to work at something she enjoyed, a cook/manager at A&W in Russell, until she became a cook for Prairie Mountain Health at Birtle Hospital.

Mom enjoyed the simple things in life, like bonfires on New Year's Eve, going for rides to see different scenery, and she really enjoyed classic cars. But most of all, she was proud of her kids and grandbabies, they were her world and watching her grandbabies grow was her true happiness. She will be forever missed.
