Katherine (Loretta) Binder was born in Russell, MB, on November 25, 1944, the third daughter of John and Mary Binder. Loretta attended Hohenloe country school through grades one to eight and Langenburg High School through grades nine to twelve. After graduation Loretta got a job at the Langenburg Bakery working for Harold Thomasen. The aroma of the best baked (rye) bread was welcoming you when you walked in the door. Loretta was in whites, looking good!
Loretta waitressed for Ernie and Mary Radbourne at the Corner Lunch in Langenburg after the bakery closed.
In 1965 Loretta married George Antosh and they settled down in a new house on the Antosh farm. George passed away in 2019 and Loretta moved into a housing unit in Langenburg.
When Loretta needed more care, she moved to the Maple Manor in Esterhazy. Her health deteriorated and after a broken hip she spent some time in Regina General and then transferred to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Esterhazy where she passed away the morning of December 4, 2023.
Loretta was predeceased by brother-in-law Louis Dutka and sister Helen Dutka. She leaves sisters Eda Neumeier, Theresa Rushka, Barbara Martens, and brother Edwin Binder.
A special thank you to Rick and Donna Antosh for their care and time given to Loretta.
