Lorne Calver passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on April 25, 2025. Leaving behind his wife Lorraine, sons Les and Lloyd, daughter-in-law Jennifer, and his two grandsons.
Survived by his brother Donnie (Rose)
Born in Grandview MB, Lorne spent his early adult life until his retirement, living in Thompson, MB. He was proud of his early contributions working in the bush at Moak Lake during the Inco nickel prospecting days. Lorne worked in different divisions for Inco as an industrial mechanic over his tenure there until his retirement in 1992.
He involved himself with his sons' activities in their early years along with the Thompson Stock Car Club.
After retiring, Lorne and Lorraine moved to Swan River, MB, where they lived for 31 years until moving to Russell last summer. Gardening, woodworking, and tinkering in his garage kept him busy during his retirement.
Lorne and Lorraine enjoyed attending auction sales over the years to try their luck at getting deals.
Our family gives many heartfelt thanks to the wonderful caring staff at the Russell PCH for their dedicated care of Lorne. We couldn't be more grateful.
As per Lorne's wishes, there will be no service. Cremation to be taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Passion4Paws Rescue via e-transfer 204-773-0287.
