Lorrie George Popp was born on March 23, 1951 to Edgar and Eileen (Peppler) Popp. He grew up on a farm in the MacNutt area and enjoyed the hard work that came along with farm life. He attended MacNutt school where he met his life partner, Connie. They were blessed with 53 years of married life together and four children. He had many talents: banker, farmer, accountant, board member and lastly mayor. He was a community builder: serving on numerous boards and leading many projects to improve the communities he lived and led in. He will be remembered for his sense of humour and created relationships through his jokes, even if they were at your expense. While leaving much unfinished, Lorrie will be remembered for the legacy that he created with his family, his friends, and his community. On June 15, 2025, he passed into the gates of heaven and no doubt, immediately got to work.
He is survived by his loving wife Connie, children Kevin (Sherry), Craig (Tamara), Melanie (Stephen), Melissa (Danny) and grandchildren: Denae (Craig), Breanna, Rhett, Kai, Sacha, Owen and Aviana, as well as numerous family members, all of whom will feel his loss.
