With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret Amelia Robinson on February 15, 2024, at the Russell & District Personal Care Home. Marg (as she was affectionately known) was 83 years old.
Marg was born on October 16, 1940, in Russell, Manitoba to John and Agnes Naf. She grew up on the family farm, north of Angusville, with her two brothers James and Ernest. After completing her schooling at Tuckersmith School, Marg relocated to Russell. Here, she worked at the local Chinese café, a place where fate would introduce her to her beloved husband, Lorne.
In 1962, Marg and Lorne were married in Russell and were blessed with two sons, Daryl and Dale. Marg's dedication extended beyond her family life; she found fulfillment working at Gillins Grocery and later at Macleod's True Value. Marg's zest for life was evident in her love for the outdoors – from gardening and planting in her greenhouse to indulging in camping, fishing, Curling, and golfing. She embraced both playing and watching sports with equal fervor, spending winters at the curling rink and summers on the golf course. In later years, Marg and Lorne found joy in volunteering for various golf tournaments at the Russell Golf and Country Club and cheering on her favorite teams and players, particularly the Blue Jays and her cherished curling teams.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Lorne, her parents John and Agnes, her brothers Jim and Ernie, and her grandson Bo.
Left to cherish her memory are sons Daryl (Kerry) and Dale (Beth); her five grandchildren Kale (Janelle), Kendra (Grant), Sage (Matthew), Landon (Emily), and Payton; and her two great-grandchildren Zander (Kendra & Grant) and Harper (Sage & Matthew).
Mom's legacy of love and dedication will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace.
