Marie Eleanor Elda Cox passed away at Morley House in Shoal Lake January 8, 2025 at the age of 91 years old.
Marie was born July 21, 1933 to John and Mabel Cox of R.M. of Ellice Archie.
Marie attended Gamblers School in her early childhood. She loved her family dearly and when Marie was eleven years old her brother Wayne, the last of her siblings was born. She delighted in taking care of him, bathing, dressing, feeding and watching over him.
She enjoyed farm life and loved animals, especially dogs. She liked to be outside on the farm and in the garden.
Marie never married or had children, but she loved every child she came in contact with they made her light up.
Marie love to travel as long as she wasn’t gone from the farm for too long. She travelled to BC, and Alberta with her brother David and his family, and spent quite a few weeks in Saskatoon Sk. over the years, visiting with her niece Shirley and getting to know her great great nieces.
She loved baking , playing aggravation, fishing and ice fishing, knitting, puzzles, latch hook, and word search until her eyesight would not longer let her do the things she enjoyed.
Marie stayed on the farm until the winter of 2023 when she moved into Morley House in Shoal Lake and soon after her brothers joined her, much to her excitement.
Marie spent the final year of her life with her brothers at Morley House and enjoyed having visitors, playing cards and the wonderful care givers.
She was predeceased by her father John Cox, mother Mabel Cox (Cusitar) brothers Melvin, Gordon, and Donald.
Left behind to mourn her passing are her brothers David Cox and Wayne Cox and nephew David Cox Jr., Niece and Godchild Shirley Betke (Cox) her husband, Norman and their children great niece Kaitlyn, and great nephews Ryan, and Jordan, as well as her great great nieces, Peyton , Bella, and Brielle
