With heavy hearts, the family of Marilyn Lee announce her passing on May 24, 2023 at 59 years of age.
Marilyn was born on January 11, 1964 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. She was the second youngest of 8 children born to Bill & Josephine Allan. She grew up on the family farm near Tisdale.
While in high school, Marilyn met the love of her life, Dwayne, and on July 11, 1981, they were married. In 1986 they moved their young family to Russell, where Dwayne started working on the farm for Lyle Keating, while Marilyn stayed home and raised their 4 children; Amanda, Brent, Trent & Kyra. In April 2000, she worked shutdown at Bunge, where she continued working after shutdown until January 2020 when she was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell carcinoma on her lung.
Huge vegetable gardens, bushels of cucumbers, and hills and hills of potatoes kept Marilyn busy throughout the summers. Hosting family meals was something that she loved to do – a full house meant a full heart. She also loved making perogies and going to the local BINGO.
The thing she loved the most was being a grandma. Her 5 grandchildren; Lexon, Broden, Amedee, Sawyer & Kayce were the light of her life. She was a dedicated hockey, baseball & rodeo grandma, driving miles and miles to cheer them on.
Marilyn is predeceased by her parents; brothers Dwayne, Bill, Gordon & Lessel; sister Joan; father-in-law Marvin and nephew Dustin.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Dwayne; daughter Amanda (Charles) Roorda & grandchildren Broden & Sawyer; son Brent (Celsey) Lee & grandchildren Lexon & Amedee; son Trent Lee (Peter Carpenter); daughter Kyra (James) Copping & grandchild Kayce will cherish memories of her.
